The Nighttime Sky
10/01 & 02/2025
Spent the entire night at Hulah Lake, OK taking pics
Part 1
Sunset in Claremore, OK
► The sun was setting as I was leaving home so I took a few pics.
These are the only pics I took on 10/01. All the rest were taken on 10/02.
It's a 2 hour drive from Claremore to Hulah Lake, which is north and west of Bartlesville, OK.
For some reason, since the location I picked to shoot my photos was on the north side of the lake,
my GPS took me all the way into Kansas, and put me on an 11 mile dirt road,
only to put me on another highway to head back into Oklahoma.

Part 2
Shoot the Moon
► I had previously bought a very cheap ($100) 500mm telephoto lens that came with a doubler.
It's really a piece of junk, as I discovered using it today, but I'll eventually buy a better one.
It did allow me to get a lot closer to the moon than I ever have before.

Part 3
Random Star Pics
► I shot a lot of pics as tests, for exposure and angle and such. A lot of them are good,
but not usable for star tracks which was my main goal for today.
I also had hoped to get some decent shots of the Milky Way,
but either I was not in a dark enough spot, or more likely the season for good sightings is already over.
The main part - the central core - of our galaxy isn't visible from October to March,
as during the fall and winter our planet is on the wrong side of our sun to clearly see the Milky Way.
