September California Trip
9/10

   1st stop

Glacier Point • Yosemite National Park

• 1st stop today - all of today's stops are in Yosemite National Park.
• Coming in from the southwest entrance of the park, we headed to this spot to get these great views.
• NOTE 1... In the close-up of Half Dome you'll see some human beings standing on the top!
• NOTE 2... The very last pic is a sign telling bears to slow down to reduce the risk of death!

Tunnel View

   2nd stop

Tunnel View • Yosemite National Park

The first view of Yosemite Valley when you come in from the southwest entrance is when you come to Tunnel View.  You drive through a really long tunnel and immediately after coming out

there is a parking area and a tremendous view.
• The 1st pic is looking out the end of the tunnel.  The last pic is looking back at the tunnel.

   3rd stop

Bridalveil Falls • Yosemite National Park

Hiked in a short distance to see these falls.  Not a tremendous amount of water coming over,

but with the wind, at some points, the water was being blown back over the top of the cliff.

El Capitan

   4th stop

El Capitan • Yosemite National Park

Not sure if I can call this a stop as I took the pics through the windshield while I was driving through Yosemite Valley!

   5th stop

Hetch Hetchy Reservoir • Yosemite National Park
Not as frequently visited as Yosemite Valley, this lake is a little farther north, but is also part of the park.

Long drive on old roads, but well worth the effort.  Interesting history.

The dam was built after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake to create a supply of fresh water for the bay area.
