Flight to LA • Drive to Indio, CA
Part 1
Flight from Tulsa, OK to Burbank, CA
► Flying from Tulsa, OK (TUL) to Burbank, CA (BUR), via Phoenix, AZ (PHX).
► Dad picked me up at the airport and we left directly from there on our road trip back to Oklahoma!

Part 2
Summit Scenic Overlook (Cajon Pass Overlook)
► Westbound BNSF train going through Cajon Pass Summit.
► Actually it was 2 trains. In the video, you will see a second train zoom by going the same direction on the inner track. It only had a few cars.

Part 3
Silverwood Lake & Cedar Spring Dam
► Couldn't get very close to the lake, but did the best I could. Google maps shows the Pacific Crest Trail going across the top of the dam, but I couldn't find any signage that indicated this was true.
► From here we headed toward Indio, with the intent of driving through Joshua Tree National Park on the way. The northwest portal was closed for construction. We couldn't get to the northeast portal because of flooding on the road. After we left Cajon Pass the sky kept getting more and more overcast the further east we got. We got rained on several times. We had to double-back to I-10 to get to Indio.

Part 4
Sunset at Indio, CA
► My intent was to shoot the sunset from Key's View, in Joshua Tree National Park, but since we couldn't get into the park because of construction and the weather, we gave up and headed to our restaurant in Indio. Just placed my order and saw that there was going to be a very short window to see the sun before it went behind the mountains, so I went out into the parking lot and took some pics. The pics that are after the sun is gone I took just shy of our hotel along some railroad tracks. My dinner was waiting for me when I got back inside!
