Wichita Mountains • Buffalo
• This part is all about buffalo (American Bison). They roam free here so you really have to watch where you're going. All the pics are from during the daylight, but after I shot the sunset and then ate my dinner at that location, I had to try to find a place to "camp" in the dark. Not so easy. At one point, I had to drive around a few buffalo loitering along the side of the road. A little while later I had to stop dead in the roam for the herd of about 50 or so buffalo as they were running across the road.

Part 3
Wichita Mountains • Elk Mountain
• I hiked about 1/2 the way up Elk Mountain.
Very nice hike (about 3/4 mile up) with lots of big rocks, lots of trees, lots of flowers, and lots of cactus.
First you cross the bridge over the stream, then you go up, up, up. Great vistas even from only 1/2 way up.
• Shout out to the total stranger who warned me to avoid the spot with the rattlesnake!!
• Bonus time-lapse 360° video hiking back down the trail! Last item.

Wichita Mountains • Caddo Lake
4th leg of the 1st day of a 17 day solo road trip at the Wichita Mountains.
• Stopped at Caddo Lake to get a few pics of the setting sun reflecting off the surface of the lake.

Wichita Mountains • Sunset at the West Entrance
5th and last leg of the 1st day of a 17 day solo road trip at the Wichita Mountains.
• Sunset, just outside the west entrance of the park
• Just in case anyone is concerned about the drone pics, I shot all of these photos and video
(with the exception of the pic of the park sign) outside of the park.
