Washington DC
August 16 to 22
A little trip to Virginia for Steve, Geri, and Mary to see Joey, Jennifer, Dillon, and Sophie.
We left on 8/16 and came home on 8/22.
We spent two different days in Washington DC and one day at Assateague Island, in Maryland.
August 16

Our first day in DC touring the sites.
Today we saw the Washington Monument, the White House, The National WWII Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Korean War Veterans memorial,
and (from a distance) the Thomas Jefferson Memorial.
August 20

Our second day in DC touring the sites.
Today we saw the Library of Congress, the Capital, the National Archives (where the Declaration of Independence,
the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights are on display), and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.

A drive to Assateague Island, in Maryland, to see the Atlantic Ocean and the horses!

The flight home. A beautiful day.
