The Grand Canyon
After leaving Las Vegas, and flying over Lake Mead,
we flew over parts of the Grand Canyon.

Shiprock Monolith
(At least, that's what I call it). It doesn't look like much from the air,
but it's taller than the length of 5 football fields.
It has 3 dikes, uplifts of solidified lava that pushed up into fissures in the past,
and now project upwards into the sky around 300 feet in places.
The longest dike, the one that points straight south, is 5 miles long.
