6/30/2025

3rd stop today • Confluence of the East and West Forks

of the San Juan River, near Pagosa Springs, CO

This spot is actually the confluence of the East and West Forks of the San Juan River.

From this point on, this is just the San Juan River.

It flows from this point 383 miles until it joins the Colorado River in Lake Powell.

The confluence is in southern Colorado, near Pagosa Springs, flows south from there to New Mexico, where it flows west through Farmington and Shiprock.

It flows back into Colorado for 3 miles near the 4 corners, then into Utah and Lake Powell.
