• Who in their right minds goes to the ocean in the winter?  I guess we're crazy but we had a great time.

   2006/01/12 to 16d - Huntington Library   
• This vast complex is more than just a library.  The grounds alone are worth the effort just to explore the various gardens.  There are "hands on" areas for the kids.  And even a real collection of books - including a Guttenburg Bible!  Lots, and lots, and lots of historical artifacts!

   2006/01/12 to 16e - Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve   
• A kind of hidden spot in the San Fernando Valley.  Nestled just inside of Sepulveda Dam, which is purely there for flood control, the watershed is a haven for animals and birds that need to be near the water.
